Sharmadean Reid Nail design

Sharmadean is the creator, owner and entrepreneur behind WAH nail salon in East London. She sees each nail as a miniature canvas for individual expression and happily admits that she never gets bored of decorating them.

She also publishes WAH Fanzine to voice her passion and concerns about the unobtainable images of women portrayed by the media, to teenage girls.

Obtaining the position of Cultural Secretary for the Government is just one of her many aspirations, but until then she’s venturing west to open her second salon.

Sharmadean has flourished creatively having had the freedom to evolve her own business and draws much inspiration from British make-up Artist, Pat McGrath.

Based in Dalston’s transitionally chic and stimulating scene, she takes inspiration from her artistic, writer and film maker contemporaries who are always dropping by.
